Mbappé Hat-Trick Fires Real Madrid to Victory Over Real Sociedad in Mourinho’s Bernabéu Return

Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick as José Mourinho enjoyed a memorable return to the Santiago Bernabéu, guiding Real Madrid to victory over Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Mourinho had already made a winning start to his second spell in charge of Madrid with a 2-1 victory away at Espanyol. His side followed that result with another impressive performance at home.

Real Sociedad proved difficult opponents during the opening stages, frustrating Madrid with their disciplined defending and determination to spoil Mourinho’s return to the Bernabéu.

However, Madrid eventually broke the deadlock five minutes before half-time. Mbappé produced an excellent first touch inside the box to escape his marker before firing a powerful finish past the goalkeeper.

Real Sociedad responded quickly, equalising just four minutes later when a deflected effort fell perfectly for Luka Sučić, who made no mistake from the opportunity.

Madrid stepped up the pressure after the break, with Jude Bellingham playing a key role in their attacking display.

The England midfielder combined brilliantly with Mbappé in a one-two before the French forward finished calmly to restore Madrid’s lead.

Bellingham was involved again for the third goal, showing persistence inside the penalty area before setting up Vinícius Júnior for a simple finish.

Mbappé completed his hat-trick late in the game after running onto a superb pass from Vinícius Júnior and delicately chipping the goalkeeper.

The result gives Mourinho a perfect start to his return to the Bernabéu, with two victories from his opening two La Liga matches.

The Portuguese manager previously enjoyed a successful first spell at Real Madrid, winning 128 of his 178 matches in charge and securing three domestic titles.

For Madrid, meanwhile, Mbappé’s hat-trick and Bellingham’s influential performance will provide plenty of encouragement as they continue their campaign.
