Manso Nkwanta MP Cuts Sod for Modern Football Pitches at Gyeninso and Bontefufuo

The Member of Parliament for Manso Nkwanta, Hon. Tweneboah Koduah Fokuo, has cut sod for the construction of modern football pitches for the Gyeninso and Bontefufuo communities in the Amansie West District.
The sod-cutting ceremony, held at the Gyeninso Community Park, brought together traditional leaders, residents, youth groups, football teams and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) from the two communities.
The project forms part of the MP’s efforts to promote sporting activities and create opportunities for young people in the constituency to develop and nurture their football talents.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Hon. Fokuo said the initiative was part of his commitment to promoting sports and creating a conducive environment for the youth to develop their talents.
He said the provision of modern sporting facilities would help encourage young people to participate actively in sports while providing opportunities for the identification and development of football talents in the area.
Hon. Fokuo also urged the youth to refrain from drug abuse, warning that the practice could negatively affect their health, education and future prospects.
He encouraged them to channel their energies into productive activities, particularly education, sports and skills development, to enable them to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
Mr Daniel Sarpong, Project Manager of Madreperla Essential Limited, the company undertaking the project, explained that the construction was intended to provide suitable sporting facilities for the beneficiary communities.
He appealed to residents to cooperate with the contractors and support the project to ensure its timely and successful completion.
Mr Sarpong expressed optimism that the project would be completed within four to six months, subject to the necessary support and cooperation from the communities.
He therefore urged residents to take ownership of the project and help protect the facilities during and after construction.
The Chief of Gyeninso, Nana Appiah Kubi II, commended Hon. Fokuo for initiating the project, saying the provision of sporting facilities would contribute to the development of young talents in the area.
He said the project would provide the youth with a better environment to develop their football skills and engage in productive activities.
Nana Appiah Kubi II, however, used the occasion to appeal to delegates in the constituency to reconsider the practice of changing Members of Parliament after only one term.
He argued that giving MPs sufficient time in office could enable them to implement and complete development projects initiated for their constituents.
The Chief therefore urged delegates to consider continuity in parliamentary representation, saying frequent changes could affect the implementation of long-term development projects in the constituency
