Man Jailed for Stealing Hard Drives Containing Unreleased Beyoncé Music

A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to two years in prison after breaking into a vehicle and stealing hard drives reportedly containing unreleased music by Beyoncé.

Break-in happened during Cowboy Carter tour

The convict, Kelvin Evans, pleaded guilty in an Atlanta court to charges including entering an automobile and criminal trespass.

The incident occurred on July 8, 2025, in Atlanta, shortly before Beyoncé began a four-night stop on her Cowboy Carter Tour at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Authorities say Evans smashed the rear window of a rented Jeep Wagoneer belonging to members of Beyoncé’s touring team and stole several items from inside the vehicle.

Unreleased music among stolen items

The vehicle reportedly belonged to choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue.

Among the stolen items were two MacBook laptops, Apple headphones, luxury clothing, accessories, and hard drives said to contain unreleased Beyoncé material and other sensitive information linked to the singer.

Investigators have not yet recovered the hard drives or the missing music files.

Surveillance footage linked suspect to crime

According to court proceedings, prosecutors presented surveillance footage showing a red Hyundai allegedly driven by Evans pulling up beside the rental vehicle in a parking garage.

Additional video footage reportedly showed Evans later handling luggage believed to belong to the victims at an apartment complex.

Authorities also tracked the stolen laptops using location technology, which reportedly connected the devices to the same address seen in the surveillance video.

Repeat offender receives prison and probation sentence

Court records indicate Evans had previous criminal offences on his record.

As part of a plea agreement reached before trial, he was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of probation.

The court also ordered him to stay away from the victims and the parking facility where the theft occurred.

Evans had been in custody since his arrest in August 2025 after initially pleading not guilty earlier this year.
