Man Arrested in Kumasi After Wife’s Family House Set on Fire Amid Suspected Infidelity Dispute

A man has been arrested in Kumasi after a house belonging to his wife’s family was set on fire, in an incident allegedly linked to suspicions of infidelity.

Patrick Agyemang Yeboah is accused of burning the property following claims that his wife was involved with a former boyfriend based in London. The event is said to have stemmed from ongoing tensions in the marriage.

According to a friend of the suspect, Kennedy Adutwum, Yeboah had earlier confided that he was facing serious challenges at home. He reportedly told Adutwum that his wife had driven him out of their matrimonial home (which belongs to her family) and was pushing to end the marriage.

Adutwum said Yeboah believed his wife’s alleged relationship with her ex-partner in the United Kingdom was the main reason behind the breakdown.

Police have taken Yeboah into custody to assist with investigations into the fire. While he has denied setting the house ablaze, he is reported to have admitted making threats on social media prior to the incident.

The fire caused significant damage to the property, though no casualties were reported.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.

This incident highlights the serious consequences that can arise from domestic disputes, particularly when they escalate into violence or property destruction.
