Three 18-year-olds, Mamudu Issah, Samuel Takyi, and Alhassan Abubakari, have been sentenced to 10 years in prison each for their involvement in a violent robbery at Boubai in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of Kumasi. The incident occurred on July 1, 2025, where the trio attacked residents with machetes, stealing mobile phones, bags, and cash.
The robbery took place between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on July 1, 2025. The three suspects, accompanied by three other accomplices still at large, rode on two unregistered motorbikes and wielded machetes during the attack.
The Atasemanso Circuit Court in Kumasi handed down the sentence after the three pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and seven counts of robbery. Mamudu Issah received an additional three-year sentence for causing harm, but the sentences will run concurrently.
