Lamine Yamal and Mikel Oyarzabal Shine as Spain Thrash Saudi Arabia 4-0

Spain registered their first win of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a dominant 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in Group H.
Lamine Yamal opened the scoring 10 minutes into his first World Cup start, tapping home at the far post after Mikel Oyarzabal’s low cross evaded Saudi defender Hassan Al Tambakti.
Oyarzabal then doubled Spain’s lead, finishing low past goalkeeper Mohammad Al-Owais after Saudi Arabia failed to clear a corner.
The Real Sociedad forward added his second goal just three minutes later, sweeping home Dani Olmo’s flick-on at the far post.
Spain continued to press after the break, and a powerful effort from Marc Cucurella was saved by Al-Owais, only for the rebound to hit defender Al Tambakti and go into the net for Spain’s fourth goal.
The result gives Spain a strong platform in Group H after their opening draw against Cape Verde, while Saudi Arabia remain winless.
