KMA Issues Eviction Notice to Commercial Drivers Around KATH and Gee Roundabout

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has expressed concern over the unauthorised parking and loading activities of commercial drivers operating around the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), particularly at the Gee Roundabout.
The Assembly hereby directs all commercial drivers to cease loading and parking on the shoulders of the road from the 4th Battalion of Infantry (4BN) gate to the Gee Roundabout, on both sides of the road.
This directive excludes the designated taxi rank in front of the Polyclinic within the KATH premises.
All affected commercial drivers are given up to Friday, 30 October 2026, to vacate the unauthorised locations and return to their respective transport unions and approved loading points.
The Assembly wishes to inform the public and all affected drivers that, effective Sunday, 1 November 2026, a KMA task force will commence enforcement operations to clear the affected areas. Vehicles found violating this directive will be removed and detained in accordance with the Assembly’s enforcement procedures.
The KMA strongly urges all affected drivers to comply with this directive within the stipulated period to ensure the free flow of traffic, improve road safety and maintain order around the hospital and its surrounding areas.
The Assembly counts on the cooperation of all transport unions, commercial drivers and the general public.

The statement was issued by the Public Relations Unit on 13 October 2026.
