KENNEDY DESERVES SERIOUS CONSIDERATION AS BAWUMIA’S RUNNING MATE FOR 2024 ELECTIONS

A Stalwart of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Arthur Kobina Kennedy has suggested that the new flagbearer of the NPP Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should cosider selecting the Assin Central lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong as his running mate for the 2024 general elections.

Dr Arthur indicated that Mr Agyapong who placed second in the NPP flagbearer elections has the integrity to partner Dr Bawumia.

“The choice of the running mate is always the prerogative of the presidential candidate and he tells you who it is going to be. I think that in terms of signaling, he can understand the yearning for change,.

“Integrity and plain speaking Kennedy Agyapong deserves serious consideration as a running mate on the NPP side.”

Dr Arthur K further stated that the 2024 general elections will be directed by three key issues, corruption, nepotism, and incompetence. He said he wanted to see how these issues will be tackled by the candidates in their campaign promises because of the danger they pose to the development of Ghana.

“The biggest issues of this election should be corruption, nepotism, and incompetence,” he said

“It will be an ‘F’ on all of them but of course, the previous Mahama government was defeated in 2016 because of corruption and some of those things and so it will be a dueling campaign to point out each other’s faults and each other’s weaknesses. I actually will be looking for the positives about who can help us end these things. Because I believe the biggest problems causing Ghana’s underdevelopment is corruption, nepotism and incompetence.”

Dr Arthur Kennedy further indicated that the election of Dr Bawumia is significant because it settled the issue of the party being an Akan party.

“One can say that the election of Afoko against government support was more significant but certainly one can say that the NPP has been able to elect a non-Akan flagbearer and that is a positive thing.
