Roman Fada’s Disqualification Sparks Allegations of Bribery and Political Manipulation
In a dramatic turn of events ahead of Ghana’s 2024 Presidential Election, Phillip Appiah Kubi, widely known as Roman Fada, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) presidential candidate, has been disqualified from the race. The Electoral Commission (EC) cited “errors and illegalities” in his nomination forms as the reason for the decision. However, a viral video has ignited controversy, suggesting there may be more to the story.
In the video, a man alleges that Roman Fada was approached by political figures, including Dzataba and Akpaloo, with an offer to withdraw his candidacy. The most shocking claim involves NPP’s Chairman Wontumi, who allegedly called with a proposal of 5 billion old Ghana cedis in exchange for Roman Fada’s support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate. Roman Fada reportedly refused the offer, standing firm on the principles of Madam Akua Donkor, who entrusted him with the GFP’s mission.
The man in the video further asserts that he possesses evidence to substantiate his claims. “I wouldn’t lie about this,” he insists, “because if this goes to court, I can’t afford to make false statements.”
The timing of Roman Fada’s disqualification has fueled speculation, with some suggesting that his refusal to accept the alleged bribe might have led to a politically motivated exclusion.
As these explosive allegations circulate, they add a new layer of intrigue to the 2024 elections, with many questioning the impartiality of the disqualification process. Watch the full video below for more details.
