Iran Tightens Airspace Restrictions Amid Fears of Possible US Strike

Iran has imposed strict flight restrictions across large sections of its western airspace, with emergency aviation alerts expected to remain in effect until May 25 amid growing tensions and fears of a possible military confrontation with the United States.
According to reports, commercial air traffic over western Iran has reduced significantly as several international airlines avoid the region following warnings that Iran’s air defence systems have been placed on heightened operational readiness.
Authorities are reportedly allowing only limited daytime flights at selected airports, while some major southern airports continue to operate under partial emergency open-and-close procedures.
The restrictions have intensified speculation that Tehran is preparing for a potential escalation in regional tensions rather than conducting a routine military exercise.
The development comes amid rising geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, with global aviation operators closely monitoring security conditions in the region.
No official confirmation has been issued regarding any imminent military action, but the increased airspace controls and defence readiness have raised international concern over the possibility of further escalation.
