Interim Asante Kotoko Coach Prince Yaw Owusu Frustrated by Poor Home Form

Interim Asante Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu has voiced deep frustration over the team’s ongoing struggles to claim victories on home soil, admitting that the situation is deeply disappointing for the club’s passionate supporters.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a frustrating goalless draw by 10-man Vision FC in their Matchday 24 encounter at the Baba Yara Stadium last weekend. The result left fans visibly unhappy and added to the growing pressure on the team to deliver consistent performances in Kumasi.
Speaking to the club’s media ahead of their crucial Matchday 25 fixture against Karela United this weekend, Yaw Owusu opened up about the emotional toll of dropping points at home.
“It’s not easy at all. A lot of thinking about what’s going on, what is happening, why Kumasi, all those things cross my mind,” he said. “It hurts a lot because my fans are also in Kumasi, and this is where we have to satisfy them, and it’s not happening. It’s very difficult for us.”
The upcoming clash against Karela United will take place at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT. Kotoko will be desperate to turn their fortunes around and give their supporters something to cheer about after a string of underwhelming results on familiar ground.
As the Ghana Premier League season progresses, the pressure continues to mount on the interim coach and his squad to rediscover their winning rhythm, particularly when playing in front of their home faithful.
