IGP Hails Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as “King Solomon of Our Time”

Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno has lavished praise on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, likening him to the biblical King Solomon for his profound wisdom and pivotal role in fostering peace and unity in Ghana.
The glowing tribute came during Otumfuo’s historic visit to Police Headquarters in Accra on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Yohuno highlighted the monarch’s calm demeanor, moral authority, and patience as key to resolving entrenched conflicts, directly aiding law enforcement and bolstering public trust.
He cited Otumfuo’s successful mediation in the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis, Yendi disputes, and the protracted Bawku conflict as exemplary.
“Your exceptional mediation skills, which have restored peace in numerous conflicts across our nation, compel me to describe you as the King Solomon of our time,” the IGP declared.
The visit underscores deepening ties between traditional leadership and state security institutions in promoting national cohesion.
