Guest House Owner “James Bond” Flees After Girlfriend’s Brutal Murder in Fanteakwa South

The serene community of Ehiamankyene in the Fanteakwa South District has been plunged into grief and fury following the discovery of a young woman’s lifeless body in a local guest house, with her boyfriend – a well-known operator nicknamed “James Bond” – emerging as the prime suspect and remaining at large.
The victim, affectionately known as Koryo, a popular food vendor at the Ehiamankyene market, was found in a pool of blood, leaving her family, including a young child she shared with the suspect, shattered.
The incident, believed to have occurred on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, has ignited a manhunt by Begoro police, who describe the case as a potential domestic homicide shrouded in secrecy. Koryo, in her late 20s, had visited the BJ Tech Guest House owned by the suspect, only to vanish from sight.
Concerned relatives grew alarmed when she failed to return home, prompting her younger brother to trace her steps to the property. Peering through a window, he was met with the horrifying sight of his sister’s body, sprawled amid signs of a violent struggle.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes – she was just gone, like that,” the brother recounted to local reporters, his voice breaking. He immediately raised the alarm, summoning family members who, in turn, notified authorities.
Police from the Begoro station responded swiftly, arriving Thursday evening, November 13, to secure the scene and transport Koryo’s remains to Begoro Government Hospital for autopsy. Preliminary investigations point to blunt force trauma as the likely cause of death, though officials await forensic results to confirm details.
The suspect, identified as “James Bond” – a moniker earned from his charismatic persona and the James Bond films that inspired his guest house’s flair – allegedly fled the premises shortly after the discovery.
Described as a fixture in Ehiamankyene’s hospitality scene, the man in his 30s had kept his relationship with Koryo under wraps, despite their shared child. Family sources revealed deep-seated disapproval from her relatives, who viewed the liaison as unstable and had urged her to end it. “She deserved better; we all told her, but love blinds,” one aunt lamented.
As word spread, raw anger erupted among residents, transforming sorrow into vigilantism. A mob of enraged youth descended on the guest house, dousing the suspect’s Apsonic GY9 motorbike in fuel and setting it ablaze in a fiery act of retribution. Threats to raze the entire structure echoed through the streets, forcing police to intervene and restore order.
No arrests have been made in connection with the arson, but community leaders have appealed for calm, warning that such actions could hinder the investigation.
John Kwame Narh, Deputy Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Fanteakwa South, confirmed the suspect’s flight and urged public cooperation. “He’s on the run, but we’re closing in. Anyone with information should come forward – this is about justice for Koryo and her child,” Narh stated. The Eastern Regional Police Command has mobilized additional resources, including checkpoints and intelligence networks, to apprehend “James Bond,” whose real name remains undisclosed pending official release.
This tragedy has exposed the undercurrents of hidden relationships and domestic tensions in rural Ghana, where economic pressures and limited support services often exacerbate vulnerabilities. Women’s rights advocates are demanding a thorough probe into potential gender-based violence, calling for swift arrest and counseling for the orphaned child now in the care of extended family.
Ehiamankyene, a bustling trading outpost, grapples with the loss of one of its vibrant souls, as markets fall eerily quiet in her memory. Police assure the public that motives – whether jealousy, argument, or deeper malice – will surface once the suspect is in custody.
