The leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has issued an update on the arrest and detention of Nurse Salomey Awiti Bafoh, a Principal Nursing Officer.
In a headquarters notice dated September 18, 2026, the Association said its First Vice President, Mr. Samuel Alagkora Akolgo, led a team on behalf of the leadership to the Adenta Circuit Court on Thursday, September 17, 2026, to show solidarity with the nurse during court proceedings.
Nurse Salomey Awiti Bafoh was remanded into custody to reappear on September 28, 2026, despite the legal arguments put forward by her lawyers.
The leadership of the Association is in touch with her lawyers to explore all legal remedies for her early release.
All members have been strongly urged to remain calm but resolute as the National Leadership navigates this legal hurdle.
