The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has responded to two separate fire incidents at Anyinam and Akyem Asafo in the Eastern Region, with no casualties recorded.
The first incident occurred near the main lorry station at Anyinam in the early hours of Monday, September 7, 2026.
The Bunso Fire Station received the distress call at 4:28 a.m. and immediately dispatched a six-member crew led by ADO II Annan. The team arrived at 4:45 a.m. and found that the fire, reportedly caused by an electrical fault, had already been extinguished.

Firefighters conducted an overhaul of the affected area to prevent possible reignition.
Items including mattresses, a television stand, a wooden ceiling and plastic chairs were partially damaged, while two standing fans were completely destroyed.
Firefighters were able to salvage gas cylinders, chairs, a mattress, bench and table.
No casualties were recorded in the incident.
Following the operation, firefighters educated the occupants on appropriate fire safety measures to help prevent similar incidents.
Vehicle Fire on Accra-Kumasi Highway
Later the same day, the Bunso Fire Station responded to a separate vehicle fire involving a black Mazda CX-7 on the Accra-Kumasi Highway at Akyem Asafo.
The emergency call was received at 10:33 a.m., and a seven-member crew led by ADO II Amankwah Dacosta arrived at the scene at 10:49 a.m.
According to the vehicle owner, he heard an unusual sound from the engine and stopped to inspect the vehicle. He subsequently noticed smoke coming from underneath the car before it suddenly burst into flames.
Bystanders reportedly overturned the vehicle in an attempt to respond to the situation, which intensified the fire.
The firefighters deployed foam concentrate to combat the blaze and successfully extinguished it at 11:10 a.m.
The Mazda CX-7 was completely destroyed in the incident. However, no casualties were recorded.
The cause of the vehicle fire remains under investigation.

The Ghana National Fire Service continues to urge members of the public to report fire incidents promptly and observe appropriate fire safety precautions.
The Service says early reporting and proper fire-safety practices remain essential to reducing risks to lives and property.
