GHANA RANKED 8TH BIGGEST ECONOMY IN AFRICA

Ghana has been ranked the 8th largest economy in Africa with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $114.71 billion, representing a 3.2% increase compared to 2025.

According to the report, Ghana’s improved economic position has been driven largely by strong performance in the mining sector, particularly rising gold prices, as well as growth in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and financial services sectors.

In 2025, Ghana’s GDP was estimated at $108.1 billion, placing the country 10th on the continent with a projected growth rate of 4.8%.

The latest ranking reflects Ghana’s steady economic growth despite ongoing challenges related to public debt management and external economic pressures.

Analysts say the country’s upward movement highlights the resilience of key sectors of the economy and the impact of sustained growth in exports, technology, and financial services.

Cassiel Ato Forson continues to oversee economic policies aimed at stabilising the economy and strengthening long-term growth prospects.
