Fuel Prices to Drop for Christmas – Oil Marketers Board Chair Assures Ghanaians

Ghanaians are set for a festive season relief at the pumps as the Chairman of the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), Gabriel Kumi, has announced significant reductions in petroleum product prices starting mid-December 2025.

Speaking on PM Express Business Edition on Thursday, December 12, Mr Kumi said global prices have already fallen sharply: diesel down by about 10%, petrol by 6%, and LPG by 1–1.5%.

“Fortunately, Ghanaians are going to have a very good Christmas in terms of petroleum prices, because the indication is clear that prices are going down,” he stated.

He explained that the first pricing window adjustment on December 16 will reflect these declines, with further reductions expected in the second window covering the Christmas and New Year period, provided the cedi remains relatively stable.

“If the cedi is held in check, we can be sure that from the 16th of December, prices of petroleum products will generally go down and take us comfortably through the Christmas season,” Mr Kumi added.

The anticipated cuts come as welcome news amid ongoing economic pressures and ahead of heightened travel demand during the holidays.
