Ghana is set to host Angola on the opening day of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (AFCON).
According to CAF, the qualifiers will be held from September to November this year, clearing the way for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in 2025.
Ghana will begin its campaign against Angola at home, followed by a trip to Niger for the second Group F match scheduled between September 2-10, 2024.
Later in October, the Black Stars will face Sudan in a doubleheader. They will host the 1970 African champions in Kumasi before traveling for the reverse fixture during the week of October 7-15, 2024.
In the final round of qualifiers in November, Ghana will travel to Luanda to face Angola before concluding their campaign against Niger at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The top two teams from Group F will qualify for the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next year. Otto Addo’s team is aiming to secure a spot in Africa’s premier football tournament, having previously won the title in 1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982.
