Foh Amoaning Demands GFA Roadmap to Revive Black Stars After AFCON Failure
Moses Foh Amoaning, a Justice Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry member, has challenged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to develop and present a comprehensive plan to restore the pride of the Black Stars and Ghanaian football.
This call comes in the wake of the Black Stars’ dismal performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Under head coach Otto Addo, the team finished last in Group F with just three points, failing to secure a single victory in six matches.
GFA’s Response and Pending Decisions
The GFA Executive Council convened a meeting on Wednesday but failed to reach a decision regarding Otto Addo’s future as head coach. A statement, however, indicated that a conclusive decision will be made on Wednesday, November 27, ahead of a stakeholder retreat on Thursday, November 28.
Foh Amoaning’s Perspective
In an interview with Asempa FM, Foh Amoaning insisted that the GFA must do more than issue apologies, urging them to deliver a clear and actionable roadmap for rebuilding Ghanaian football.
“The FA should have a plan and lay it out for Ghanaians. They must admit that the situation is a mess and ask for patience while outlining their improvement steps. A mere apology is not enough, and Ghanaians will not accept it,” he stated.
This marks the first time in 21 years that the Black Stars have failed to qualify for the AFCON tournament, leaving fans and stakeholders deeply disappointed.
Looking Ahead
Despite the setback, the Black Stars will shift their focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers beginning in March 2025, where they will face Chad and Madagascar.
Ghanaians eagerly await the GFA’s decisions and plans to restore the nation’s footballing pride. What steps do you think should be taken to rebuild the Black Stars? Share your thoughts below!
