Ghana Confirms Six New Mpox Cases as National Infections Rise to 1,070

The Ghana Health Service has confirmed six new cases of Mpox, bringing the total number of recorded infections in the country to 1,070 as of May 10, 2026.
According to the latest update from the health authority, no new deaths have been reported, leaving the national death toll at eight.
Health officials say Mpox continues to spread mainly through close physical contact with infected individuals, prompting renewed calls for increased public vigilance and improved personal hygiene practices.
The GHS has advised the public to seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as fever, skin rash, headaches, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or unusual fatigue.
The Service also encouraged Ghanaians to remain calm while strictly observing preventive measures to help reduce the spread of the disease across communities.
