GFA Boosts Football Development: Nine Division One League Clubs Receive Buses
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a bold step to enhance football development in Ghana by delivering buses to nine Division One League clubs. This initiative, part of GFA’s capacity-building strategy, supports club operations and improves logistics.
The presentation ceremony, attended by GFA Executive Council members, fulfilled a commitment made by GFA President Kurt Okraku during the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi last year.
The buses were awarded to the top three teams from each Division One League zone following the 2023/24 season, aiming to ease transportation challenges and motivate higher performance standards.
Beneficiary Clubs:
- Zone 1: Young Apostles FC (1st place, now in the Premier League), Techiman Heroes FC (2nd place), Victory Club Warriors (3rd place).
- Zone 2: Basake Holy Stars (1st place, now in the Premier League), New Edubiase FC (2nd place), Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs (3rd place).
- Zone 3: Vision FC (1st place, now in the Premier League), Okwawu United (2nd place), Hohoe United (3rd place).
GFA President Kurt Okraku emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating:
“This is part of our broader strategy to empower clubs and ensure sustainable development of the game.”
The gesture has garnered widespread praise from football stakeholders, who see it as a crucial step in improving logistics and elevating the standard of Ghana’s Division One League.
