GES Recruitment Portal Glitches Frustrate Applicants

Unemployed teachers seeking to apply for newly announced vacancies by the Ghana Education Service have raised concerns over technical challenges affecting the application process.

In a statement issued on April 10, 2026, the GES invited graduates with education degrees to apply for teaching positions nationwide. However, some applicants say difficulties with the online portal are hindering their ability to complete submissions.

According to affected candidates, several Colleges of Education were initially missing from the system, forcing some applicants to select institutions they did not attend in order to proceed.

Others reported that certain class categories appeared as full, preventing them from finalising their applications.

Speaking to Citi News on condition of anonymity, one applicant appealed to authorities to urgently address the issues before the April 17 deadline.

“There are real challenges associated with this teacher recruitment process. If something can be done about it, it would help. We have just one week to complete this exercise, and the portal only opened yesterday, yet all these issues are already occurring,” the applicant said.

He further urged the GES to allow applicants to correct errors made due to earlier system glitches and to reopen access for those whose institutions were not initially listed.

The concerns come amid high interest in the recruitment exercise, as thousands of graduates seek employment opportunities in the education sector.

GES is yet to officially respond to the reported technical challenges.
