Garu MP Urges Bawku Factions to Accept Asantehene’s Final Ruling for Lasting Peace

Garu MP Dr Thomas Anaba has called on all sides in the Bawku conflict to accept the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s final ruling. The mediation ends today, Monday, December 1, 2025, at Manhyia Palace.
He is sad about years of deaths, lost property, and wasted resources. Peace is the only way forward, he said.
The government asked the Asantehene to help solve the Bawku chieftaincy crisis. Many hope his decision will end the violence.
Speaking to Citi News on Sunday, November 30, 2025, Dr Anaba said everyone should take the ruling in good faith. Unity will bring development.
“We have lost too much—lives, time, businesses. Both President Akufo-Addo and President Mahama trusted the Asantehene. He has handled it carefully. Now we are at the end,” he said.
Dr Anaba wants the ruling to start a new chapter.
“His words should bring peace. The government must follow his advice. We are one people. This is just a small fight over ownership,” he added.
He prayed for a calm end that brings back Bawku’s old days of trade, growth, and stability.
