Funeral Arrangements Announced for Veteran Actor William Addo and Wife Agnes Akortor-Addo
Tefle, Volta Region, Ghana – The family of veteran Ghanaian actor William Addo and his wife, Mrs. Agnes Dewornu Akortor-Addo, has released details for their joint funeral rites.
The couple will be laid to rest in Tefle in the Volta Region. William Addo passed away on November 22, 2025, while his wife died on May 21, 2026, both after short illnesses.
Funeral Programme
- Friday, July 3, 2026: Conveyance of the mortal remains from the Sogakope District Hospital Morgue to the Dzavier Family House in Tefle. There will be no wake-keeping.
- Saturday, July 4, 2026: Lying-in-state, viewing, and filing past at the Dzavier Family House starting at 5:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at Dzavieto, Tefle. The couple will be interred at the Dzavier Family Cemetery in Tefle.
- Sunday, July 5, 2026: Thanksgiving service at House of Prayer Ministry in Tefle.
William Addo was a highly respected and accomplished actor who made significant contributions to the growth and development of Ghana’s film industry over several decades. He was admired for his professionalism, talent, and dedication to his craft.
The family has invited friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to join them in paying their final respects to the departed couple.
