Four Dead, 14 Injured in Road Crash at Dawadawa on Kintampo–Tamale Highway

Four people have died and 14 others sustained injuries in a serious road traffic accident at Dawadawa on the Kintampo–Tamale Highway in the Bono East Region.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday when a Kia Rhino truck carrying poultry feed collided with a Sprinter bus transporting passengers.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Bono East Region, received an emergency call at 06:55 GMT and promptly dispatched an eight-member rescue team led by Assistant Station Officer Emmanuel Agyekum.
Upon arrival, firefighters found both vehicles severely damaged, with several occupants trapped inside. The rescue team worked quickly to extricate those pinned in the wreckage.
Four victims were extracted unresponsive and were later confirmed dead. Their bodies have been handed over to the Police for preservation and further investigations. The 14 injured persons were rushed to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for emergency medical care.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation by the police. The GNFS has urged all drivers to exercise caution, obey road traffic regulations, and avoid speeding, especially on long stretches like the Kintampo–Tamale Highway.
This latest fatal accident adds to ongoing concerns about road safety in the Bono East Region, where heavy commercial vehicles frequently ply the busy corridor.
