Foden Double Inspires Man City to 4-1 Win Over Dortmund in Champions League

Phil Foden scored twice as Manchester City cruised to a 4-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium, moving into the top eight of the UEFA Champions League league phase with 10 points from four games.

Foden opened the scoring with a sublime finish from Jeremy Doku’s cross (22′), before Erling Haaland lashed home his 18th goal of the season against his former club (29′). Foden added a second with another clinical strike (57′).

Waldemar Anton pulled one back for Dortmund from a set-piece (72′), but substitute Rayan Cherki sealed the win in stoppage time (90+1′).

Pep Guardiola praised Foden: “Phil is back… When he’s happy, he’s a special player.” The England midfielder, eyeing a recall under Thomas Tuchel, impressed with two “sublime” finishes.

City dominated after a shaky start, hitting the woodwork twice and extending their unbeaten home Champions League group-stage run to 23 games (W20 D3). Haaland now has 54 goals in 52 UCL appearances.

Dortmund, who lost seven of their last eight away games to English sides, remain on four points.
