fire has swept through parts of the four-storey SIC Insurance PLC building in Takoradi, destroying several offices, including the studio of local television station New Day TV.
The fire reportedly started shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with an eyewitness claiming that the blaze originated from the television station’s studio.
Occupants initially attempted to contain the fire using fire extinguishers, but their efforts proved unsuccessful. The Ghana National Fire Service was subsequently alerted.
Firefighters arrived at the scene with several fire tenders and worked to bring the blaze under control.
No deaths or serious injuries have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, while authorities are yet to establish the full extent of the damage.
Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the outbreak and establish what may have triggered the fire.
