Fire Ravages Mechanic Shops at Sofoline, Destroys Over 100 Vehicles

A devastating fire outbreak has swept through a cluster of mechanic shops at Sofoline in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, causing massive destruction to property and livelihoods.
The fire, which broke out at about 7:00 p.m. on Sunday night, engulfed the mechanic enclave, destroying more than 100 vehicles, several engines, and large quantities of upholstery and spare parts.
Eyewitnesses said the blaze spread rapidly due to the presence of highly flammable materials within the workshops, making it difficult to contain in the early stages. Shop owners and workers were left devastated as years of investment were reduced to ashes.
Although the exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially established, some artisans at the scene suspect that it may have been triggered by refuse burning in the area, which allegedly got out of control.
Fire officers were later deployed to the scene to douse the flames and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
No casualties have been reported so far, but the incident has resulted in significant economic losses, with affected artisans appealing for support to help them recover.
Authorities say investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
