England’s World Cup Preparation Disrupted by Theft of Team Equipment

England’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been hit by an unwelcome distraction after essential team equipment was reportedly stolen from their training base.

According to reports, several items belonging to members of the squad — including boots, training balls, and other key gear — were taken just days before their opening Group L match against Croatia.

Team officials are working with local authorities to investigate the incident and recover the missing equipment.

The security breach has raised concerns over safety at the England camp ahead of one of the tournament’s most anticipated early fixtures.

England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, are scheduled to face Croatia on Wednesday at AT&T Stadium. The team will be hoping the matter is resolved quickly so they can focus fully on their campaign.

This incident adds to the growing list of logistical and organisational challenges surrounding the co-hosted tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
