Eight Participants Hospitalised After Medical Emergencies at NPP Conference

Eight participants suffered medical emergencies during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Conference and Election held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The National Ambulance Service (NAS), which provided emergency medical coverage for the event, said its medical teams assessed and stabilised the eight participants before transporting them to the Kumasi South Hospital for further treatment.

Several other participants who required medical attention were treated at the stadium and discharged after receiving care, with no need for hospital referral.

To provide emergency support throughout the programme, the NAS deployed five ambulances and more than 30 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to the venue.

The emergency teams remained on standby until the conference and election ended, ensuring that delegates and other participants had access to prompt medical assistance whenever needed.

Following the conclusion of the event, the ambulances and EMTs returned to their respective stations.

The NAS said the deployment formed part of its support for major public events and was aimed at ensuring a rapid emergency medical response whenever the need arose.
