EduSpots Marks 10 Years with National Training Academy on Gender Equity and Safe Learning Spaces

EduSpots has launched its 10th Anniversary National Training Academy, a landmark initiative focused on igniting gender equity and inclusion in safe learning spaces across Ghana.
Scheduled for 17th–20th December 2025 in Akumadan, the academy will bring together 100 EduSpots Catalysts from 50 communities, marking a decade of the organisation’s commitment to community-led education.
The annual academy unites Catalysts leading EduSpots’ Ignite Equity and Keeping Spots Safe programmes for an intensive leadership development and capacity-building experience. It provides a vital opportunity for participants to strengthen their skills, exchange insights, co-design strategies for the year ahead, and deepen relationships with peers who share a passion for gender equity, safeguarding, and inclusive education.
This year’s academy places strong emphasis on empowering Ignite Equity and Safeguarding Leads to co-create the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to shape and lead the 2026 gender equity strand in their communities, while promoting stronger female leadership across the EduSpots network.
Safeguarding remains a central focus of the programme. Catalysts will develop locally driven strategies to strengthen understanding of child rights and responsibilities, ensure learning spaces are safe and inclusive, and address broader issues of social inclusion and equity. Participants will also build their skills in intercultural leadership, recognising the diverse contexts in which they work.
The academy will further explore the intersection between gender equity and safeguarding, creating opportunities for peer learning, sharing success stories, and fostering collaboration across communities.
