ECG announces eight-hour power outage in parts of Accra East

Parts of Trassaco and other communities in the Accra East Region are expected to experience an eight-hour power outage on Sunday, August 30, 2026, as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertakes emergency maintenance.
According to ECG, the exercise is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
The power outage will affect parts of Trassaco, Saso and Sidalco, as well as Signature Apartments, Cassa Trassaco and Action Chapel.
Other affected areas include the Bank of Ghana warehouse, Tip Toe Lane, Odo Rice, parts of Caprice and surrounding communities.
ECG explained that the temporary interruption is necessary to allow its engineers to repair a fault and undertake essential maintenance work aimed at improving power supply and service reliability.
The company has apologised to customers in the affected areas for the disruption and appealed for their understanding while the maintenance exercise is carried out.
ECG said it “regrets the inconvenience that will arise as a result of this exercise.”
