DVLA Decentralizes Operations with New Ultra-Modern Centres in Abuakwa and Bonwire

In a bid to decongest its central operations in Kumasi, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned two new ultra-modern service centres in Abuakwa and Bonwire.
The inauguration of these facilities marks a significant step in the Authority’s nationwide strategy to decentralize services and improve accessibility for underserved communities. Executed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP), the new offices are designed to offer seamless vehicle registration and licensing services.
The Ashanti Regional DVLA Manager, Mr. Jerry E. Aflabo, emphasized that the expansion is critical for maintaining professional driving standards while ensuring convenience for the public.
“The Authority has made it a strategic priority to make its services more accessible,” Aflabo stated. “Abuakwa is a strategic area far from Kumasi, yet connected to several communities, so many people seeking our services no longer have to take the toll of travelling to Kumasi.”</
Residents who previously endured long commutes to the central Kumasi office can now access routine licensing services closer to home. The new offices feature specialized compartments designed to streamline workflows, reducing wait times and enhancing the overall customer experience.
