Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum Rejects “Chisel” Label, Highlights Sponsorship of 150 Children

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful and former Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has strongly dismissed claims that he is “chisel” (stingy) and reluctant to spend money, defending his record of generosity and purposeful investment in people’s lives.
Speaking in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Dr Adutwum insisted that his spending is deliberate, impactful, and focused on creating lasting opportunities rather than mere handouts.
“Ask yourself, among the candidates contesting with me, who has sponsored 150 children with their own money? I’m not chisel. I spend money, and I spend it purposefully. I’ve done a lot to help people,” he stated emphatically.
The former Minister emphasized that his approach to giving prioritizes education and empowerment, pointing to his personal sponsorship of 150 students as clear evidence of his commitment to meaningful support.
Dr Adutwum’s remarks come amid the NPP’s preparations for its presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026, where delegates will elect the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
