Dormaahene Calls for Unity and Respect at 27th Anniversary Celebration

The Paramount Chief of Dormaa and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, has called for peace, unity, and mutual respect among his subjects and traditional leaders during the celebration of the 27th anniversary of his enstoolment.
Addressing guests at the commemorative ceremony, the Dormaahene expressed gratitude to the kingmakers and people of Dormaa for their continued trust and support throughout his reign.
As part of his remarks, he publicly extended forgiveness to Nana Nti for any past misunderstandings and commended him for his contributions to the development of the Dormaa Traditional Area.
The chief also paid tribute to his wife, Lady Anna Agyeman Badu, for her unwavering support during their 43 years of marriage. He acknowledged the challenges and responsibilities that come with being married to a lawyer and judge and expressed appreciation for her dedication over the years.
In addition, the Dormaahene recognized Chairman George Gyawu and other individuals who supported their marriage from its early years, thanking them for their enduring friendship and encouragement.
Touching on reports of disagreements between the Dormaa and Sunyani Traditional Councils, the Dormaahene clarified that there is no boundary dispute between the two traditional areas. He explained that the matter under discussion relates solely to mining activities and the associated financial benefits.
He cautioned members of the public against making comments directed at the Paramount Chief of Sunyani, stressing that traditional leaders should be allowed to address the issue through the appropriate channels.
The Dormaahene appealed for calm and urged all stakeholders to maintain peace while traditional authorities work towards an amicable resolution for the benefit of both traditional areas.
