Doctor Warns of Relapse Risk in Lamine Injury

Medical expert Pedro Luis Ripoll has cautioned that the injury suffered by Lamine carries a 30 percent risk of relapse, urging extreme care in managing the player’s recovery.
According to Dr. Ripoll, the severity and recovery timeline will largely depend on the exact location of the injury within the muscle structure.
He explained that if the damage is confined to the muscle belly, the prognosis is generally more positive and recovery could be smoother. However, injuries involving the muscle–tendon junction or the tendon itself are more serious and typically require a longer rehabilitation period.
In such cases, he noted, recovery could take between four and six weeks or more, depending on the player’s response to treatment.
Dr. Ripoll emphasised that rushing the recovery process could significantly increase the chances of reinjury, making careful monitoring and a gradual return to action essential.
