Daddy Lumba’s Family Urges Claimants to Step Forward, Warns Against Defamation

The family of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra, has addressed recent social media allegations against the musician.

In a press release issued on August 1, 2025, signed by their lawyer Fati Ali Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, the family called for individuals or organizations with legitimate claims against Daddy Lumba, such as debts, to formally submit them to the legal team for resolution.

They emphasized the need for verified claims to be handled through appropriate channels to avoid tarnishing the musician’s legacy.

The statement also issued a stern warning to individuals and media outlets spreading unverified or defamatory content, threatening legal action to protect Daddy Lumba’s reputation.

This follows posts on X, including one by the CEO of Joy Industries, who claimed Lumba owed money and a Toyota Tundra, prompting the family’s response.

The family urged the public to respect their grief and maintain decorum as they prepare for the musician’s burial, with funeral arrangements to be announced soon.

A candlelight vigil in Daddy Lumba’s honor is scheduled for August 2, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra at 6:00 p.m.
