Court Convicts Four in Kade Assault Case After IGP’s Cyber Vetting Operation

The Kade District Court has convicted four persons in connection with an assault case at Kade, following swift intelligence-led operations by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP)’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team.

The convictions come after the Ghana Police Service deployed the special team to Kade and surrounding communities on January 5, 2026, in response to an earlier report on the incident. According to police, the team immediately commenced intelligence operations, leading to a series of arrests.

Those arrested include Maxwell Kwesi Antwi, alias Ozil (17); Isaac Okai, alias Kofi Dubai (19); Edward Baah, alias Missed Call also known as Chatto (19); Felix Nana Darkwah, alias Blogger Omar (20); and Richmond Yeboah, alias Starboy (21).

Police said further intelligence resulted in the arrest of Richmond Yeboah, a motor mechanic apprentice, in the early hours of January 7, 2026.

Later that same day, four of the suspects—Felix Nana Darkwah, Isaac Okai, Edward Baah, and Maxwell Kwesi Antwi—were arraigned before the Kade District Court on charges of Conspiracy to Commit Crime, namely Assault.

All four accused persons pleaded guilty to the charges and were convicted by the court, presided over by His Worship George D.K. Ofori.

The court, however, deferred sentencing and remanded the convicted persons into prison custody, with the exception of Maxwell Kwesi Antwi, who was remanded into police custody due to his status as a minor. The case has been adjourned to January 20, 2026, for sentencing.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and assured the public that further updates would be provided as investigations continue.
