Chaos Erupts at Appointments Committee: Minority and Majority Clash

A heated confrontation broke out at the Appointments Committee on Thursday evening, with tensions between the Minority and Majority members escalating into chaos.

The clash got so intense that tables and microphones were destroyed, prompting police intervention to restore order. The Majority wanted to continue the vetting session beyond 10 PM, but the Minority strongly opposed this, saying they were done for the day.

After about 30 minutes of confusion, Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga and other leaders stepped in to calm things down, announcing that the sitting would have to be rescheduled for the next day due to the damage.

Apologies were made, and promises of good behavior were given for the next day’s session. The Majority’s stance was defended by Afenyo-Markin, who insisted that they would ask necessary questions during the vetting process, while also accusing the Majority of trying to intimidate the Minority
