Bono Regional Police Arrest Two Suspects for Theft on Sunyani-Berekum Highway

In a swift response to a reported theft, the Bono Regional Police have arrested two suspects linked to a break-in at a residence in London Borga, a suburb of Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The complainant, 55-year-old farmer Addai Faustina, reported on December 11, 2025, that unknown thieves had broken into her six-bedroom apartment while she was away in town. The intruders stole two 65-inch Hisense television sets valued at GH¢24,000, one Multi TV decoder worth GH¢350, and GH¢3,000 in cash.
The following day, at approximately 3:00 pm on December 11, members of the Regional Operational Patrol team, conducting routine stop-and-search operations on the Sunyani-Berekum highway, intercepted a Toyota Sienna passenger vehicle with registration number BR 135-25 traveling from Dormaa-Ahenkro toward Sunyani.
A search of the vehicle uncovered two 65-inch Hisense television sets, one Multi TV decoder with remote, and electrical cables matching the description of the stolen items.
During interrogation, the occupants—23-year-old Aaron Bawa, an ex-convict, and 25-year-old Michael Mawuli—admitted to stealing the items from Dormaa-Ahenkro. Both suspects were arrested and detained for further investigation, while the recovered items have been retained as evidence.
Efforts are underway to prepare the case docket for prosecution.
The statement was issued by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Police Command. This arrest highlights ongoing police efforts to combat theft and ensure road safety in the region.
