The Black Princesses of Ghana bounced back from their opening-day defeat to record an impressive 3-1 victory over South Korea in their second group-stage match.
Ghana started brightly and created an early opportunity through Agnes Yeboah, but her effort was parried away by the South Korean goalkeeper.
The Princesses continued to press for the breakthrough before the break, but South Korea held firm as the two sides went into half-time goalless.
Ghana Turn on the Style After Break
The Black Princesses returned from the interval with greater intensity and were rewarded in the 52nd minute when Sarah Nyarko unleashed a superb long-range strike to put Ghana ahead.
Just three minutes later, Ivy Osei Owusu doubled the advantage with an excellent individual effort down the right flank. She beat her marker before cleverly chipping the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Ghana continued to control proceedings and came close to extending their lead on several occasions.
Their pressure eventually paid off in the 84th minute, when substitute Ruth Amponsah finished off a well-worked team move from the centre-half to give the Black Princesses a commanding 3-0 lead.
South Korea managed to score a consolation goal in added time, but it was too late to spark a comeback as Ghana held on for a deserved 3-1 victory.

The Black Princesses showed resilience and determination throughout the encounter, doing enough to keep South Korea at bay and secure all three points.
They will now turn their attention to their final group game against France on September 12, 2026, as they look to strengthen their position in the group and continue their campaign.
