Asiedu Nketia Pledges Recovery of Misused Public Funds During NDC Thank You Tour in Bono East

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has assured Ghanaians that every cedi misused by public officials will be retrieved, as the party begins efforts to fulfill its campaign promises following its victory in the 2024 general elections.
Mr Asiedu Nketia made the assurance during a thank you tour of parts of the Bono East Region, where he met chiefs, party supporters and residents in communities including Atebubu-Amantin, Sene East and West, and Pru East and West.
According to him, the tour was to honour a pledge made during the campaign to personally return and thank the people should the NDC secure victory at both the presidential and parliamentary levels.
“We promised that if you voted for us, we would come back to say thank you, and today we are here,” he said.
“We also promised accountability, and we will retrieve every cedi from anyone who has misused the money of the Ghanaian people.”
He stressed that integrity, discipline and honest leadership would remain the guiding principles of the next NDC-led government, noting that the confidence reposed in the party by traditional authorities and party supporters must not be betrayed.
The tour attracted several Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives from the far eastern part of the Bono East Region, as well as the Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, who welcomed the National Chairman and commended the party’s commitment to the region.
Mr Owusu Antwi described the thank you tour as a clear indication that the NDC government intends to focus attention on communities that have long been underserved.
He assured residents that the government would prioritise development across the region, particularly in the areas of road infrastructure, rural electrification, security, water systems and education.
The Regional Minister also disclosed plans to improve access to quality education through the establishment of tertiary institutions and other educational facilities.
According to him, the government is aware of the development challenges facing the far eastern corridor of the Bono East Region and is committed to ensuring that residents feel the full impact of the NDC’s electoral victory through visible, inclusive and sustainable development.
