Asene Manso Akroso DCE Hon. Eric Ahinakwa Rewards 233 Top BECE Graduates with Educational Items

AKYEM AKROSO — In a major boost to local academics, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Asene Manso Akroso has rewarded 233 high-performing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates preparing to enter Senior High School.

The initiative, marking its second edition, saw a significant increase from the 126 students who benefited during last year’s inaugural presentation.

The ceremony, held in Akyem Akroso, drew a diverse gathering of educationists, traditional and religious leaders, government officials, and political stakeholders, and, excitingly enough, Ghanaian actor Kwabena Nyarko, popularly known as Abrewa Mafia, graced the program.

As part of the package, the students were presented with student mattresses, trunks, hampers, cash prizes, and other essential educational items.

Addressing the audience, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Eric Ahinakwa, reiterated that education remains a foundational priority of his administration. He recalled his initial commitment upon taking office to make learning in the district highly attractive and to position the area among the academic elite nationwide.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of Esther Agyei Asare from Asene Presby JHS, who emerged as the overall best BECE student for 2026 after securing grade six. In addition to peer recognition, she received a student mattress, a trunk, a hamper, a cash prize, and a collection of learning materials.

Parents in attendance expressed profound relief and joy, noting that the timely intervention significantly lifted the financial burden of purchasing essential transition items for their wards’ secondary education.
