Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana – Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Paramount Chief of Kenyase No. 2, Nana Kwabena Nsia Ababio, over violations of Asante customs and traditions.
The decision was taken during an Asanteman Traditional Council meeting held on Monday, July 27, 2026.
The Paramount Chief was destooled alongside nearly all his kingmakers who were found to have violated their oath of office.
However, the Asantehene spared the Kontihene and reinstated the destooled Akyeame and other linguists within the traditional council.
