Arsenal Return to Premier League Summit with Win Over Newcastle

Arsenal climbed back to the top of the Premier League table after a narrow 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium.

The decisive moment came early in the match when Eberechi Eze scored in the ninth minute. The midfielder finished off a well-worked short corner routine, receiving a pass from Kai Havertz before curling a superb strike into the top corner.

Managed by Mikel Arteta, Arsenal entered the game under pressure after briefly slipping to second place following Manchester City’s midweek win over Burnley. The result ensured the Gunners reclaimed top spot.

Newcastle created several chances through players like William Osula, Bruno Guimarães, and Sandro Tonali, but failed to convert their opportunities. In the second half, manager Eddie Howe introduced Yoane Wissa and Harvey Barnes in a bid to find an equaliser.

Wissa came closest late in the game but missed a clear chance, summing up a frustrating outing for the visitors, who have now suffered four consecutive league defeats.

The win strengthens Arsenal’s title push as the Premier League season heads into a crucial phase.
