Medeama Crowned Ghana Premier League Champions After Thrashing Heart of Lions

Medeama SC have won the Ghana Premier League title for the second time in three years after an emphatic 5-2 victory over Heart of Lions FC at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.
The Tarkwa-based club secured the championship with one game to spare after their closest challengers, Bibiani Gold Stars FC, suffered defeat to Dreams FC earlier in the day.
Medeama entered the decisive fixture knowing that a win, combined with dropped points from Gold Stars, would seal the league crown following their maiden title success in 2023.
Despite heavy rainfall delaying kickoff at the TnA Stadium, Medeama delivered a dominant performance in front of their home fans.
Kelvin Obeng opened the scoring in the 18th minute before adding a second later in the first half to hand the hosts firm control of the contest.
Heart of Lions attempted a comeback after reducing the deficit, but Medeama responded strongly. Derrick Fordjour grabbed a brace in the second half, while Prince Owusu added another goal late in the game to complete the rout.
Heart of Lions scored twice, including a late penalty converted by Etse Dogl, but Medeama comfortably held on to secure another historic league triumph.
