Apostle Philemon Okoh Agyemang Calls for Agricultural Units in Security Services to Attract Youth into Farming

Apostle Philemon Okoh Agyemang, Founder and Leader of the Living Yahweh 7th Day Sabbath Assemblies, has urged the government to establish agricultural units within the security services as a way to draw the country’s teeming youth into farming.

Speaking after his church’s 2026 Passover Feast and Charity Show held at Odorgonnor Senior High School in Anyaa, Apostle Agyemang warned that without attractive enticement and incentive packages, young people will continue to shun agriculture.

He described the current trend as dangerous for the nation’s long-term food security and economic development.

“Without proper enticement and incentive packages, the youth will never venture into agriculture,” he said. “This is a dangerous trend for our country.”

The church leader proposed integrating farming activities into the structure of the security services, suggesting that such units could appeal to young people who are eager to wear uniforms while also contributing to national food production.

He emphasised that creative and structured programmes combining discipline, service, and agriculture could help address youth unemployment and reduce Ghana’s reliance on food imports.

The call comes amid ongoing national discussions about youth employment, food security, and the need to modernise agriculture to make it more attractive to the younger generation.

Apostle Philemon Okoh Agyemang is widely known for his teachings on Sabbath observance and community development initiatives through his ministry.
