Former Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has described the John Dramani Mahama-led administration as the “worst government in Ghana’s history.”
He made the comments while addressing residents of Nyangbulun, where he also announced a number of interventions aimed at supporting the community.
Dr Amin Adam said he deliberately stepped aside for two years to give the current administration an opportunity to govern and demonstrate what it could deliver.
“The John Dramani Mahama government is the worst government in Ghana’s history, and this is clear for all to see, I hope. You voted the NPP out of power, and I intentionally stepped aside for two years to see what they would do,” he said.
Support for Nyangbulun
As part of his visit, the former Finance Minister supported efforts to improve healthcare delivery in Nyangbulun by facilitating the construction of a new Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound.
The facility is expected to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents of the community.
Dr Amin Adam also donated GH¢20,000 towards the medical treatment of the son of the community’s Imam.
Water challenge
The Karaga MP further pledged to help resolve the community’s water challenges.
He promised to ensure that the community’s broken water pipe is repaired within a week, saying the intervention forms part of his continued commitment to supporting residents despite the New Patriotic Party (NPP) being in opposition.
He urged residents to continue engaging their leaders and advocating for solutions to challenges affecting their communities.
His comments come amid renewed political debate over the performance of the Mahama administration and the NPP’s preparations to rebuild its support base ahead of the 2028 general elections.
