Akwatia By-Election: Early Results Show Tight Race

Voting in the Akwatia Constituency by-election ended on September 2, 2025, and vote counting is now happening across 119 polling stations. Early results from several polling stations show a close contest between Solomon Asumadu of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Bediako Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Patrick Owusu of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG).

The early results suggest a competitive race, with Bernard Bediako Baidoo (NDC) leading in most reported polling stations. The Electoral Commission is expected to announce final results later tonight.
