Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stressed the importance of unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as it looks ahead to the 2028 general elections.
He made the remarks when the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) paid a courtesy visit to him at his office to formally invite him to the party’s 2026 National Delegates Conference.
According to a Facebook post by the Committee’s Chairperson, Frederick Opare-Ansah, the former President expressed confidence in the NPP’s prospects for 2028, while highlighting the need for renewed commitment and a strong organisational foundation.
He said unity would be critical to the party’s efforts as it seeks to rebuild and renew itself, particularly by strengthening and energising its grassroots base.
He also commended the NOEC for the work undertaken towards the successful organisation of the National Delegates Conference and the national officers election process.
Nana Akufo-Addo expressed his support for the committee’s work and assured its members of his presence at the conference.
The NOEC subsequently expressed appreciation to the former President for his reception, counsel and support as the party prepares for the conference and looks ahead to 2028.
